Extio 3 IP KVM extenders now compatible with NewTek 3Play® 3P1 and TriCaster® TC1 production systems to enable seamless 4K and multi-display extension and switching support over IP
MONTREAL, Quebec — January 28, 2021 — Matrox® Video is pleased to announce that Matrox Extio™ 3 IP KVM extenders are now compatible with NewTek’s 3Play® 3P1 IP replay solution and TriCaster® TC1 live multi-camera production system. This collaboration enables broadcast facilities to create high-performance KVM-over-IP infrastructures, empowering users to connect to and control NewTek’s leading systems, and facilitate next-level, live event productions from a remote 4K or multi-display station over LAN or private WAN.
"NewTek is pleased with both Matrox Extio’s smooth integration with our flagship production systems as well as its enablement of productivity-enhancing capabilities at the user level," says Will Waters, head of product management, NewTek. "Broadcast facilities will benefit from Matrox’s reliable KVM extension technology that ensures uninterrupted on-air operations while offering pristine-quality performance at the operator station for the same-level-quality productions."
NewTek 3Play® 3P1 and TriCaster® TC1: Complete production systems
NewTek 3Play 3P1 is the premier video solution for live game coverage, replay, slow motion, training, and analysis, with a complete set of real-time capabilities integrated into a single turnkey system, including native IP workflow integration and telestration. NewTek TriCaster TC1, meanwhile, is a full-featured production system designed for the modern producer, publisher, and content creator, equipped with hundreds of advanced live production capabilities, including native IP processing; switching, streaming, and recording in HD, 3G, and 4K Ultra HD; and more. In both NewTek-based workflows, Extio 3 IP KVM extenders enable users to connect seamlessly to all NewTek server-room-centralized systems over LAN or private WAN to efficiently create and deliver high-end replay, program, and live event productions.
IP KVM extension and switching
Matrox Extio 3 IP KVM extenders deliver ultra-low-bitrate 4Kp60 4:4:4, dual 4Kp30 4:4:4, or quad 1080p60 4:4:4 video extension and switching support over a standard Gigabit Ethernet network. This KVM-over-IP technology enables users to access, share, and manage one or more centralized servers and/or workstations—located in a different room, building, campus, or city—all from a single 4K/multi-display station, optimizing operator uptime, collaboration, and productivity. Extio 3 also offers advanced security features, ensuring secure and safe transmission of all audio, video, and USB signals over the network.
"As broadcasters continue to incorporate a growing number of NewTek live production systems within their facilities, Matrox Extio 3 provides these environments with a simple, streamlined approach to KVM-over-IP infrastructures that facilitates the centralization of hardware assets while simultaneously providing operators with zero-compromise access to remote equipment," said Francesco Scartozzi, VP of sales and business development, Broadcast and Media Group at Matrox Video. "An optimized KVM network means operators can leverage and control the full capabilities of NewTek’s renowned production systems in real-time—and across high-resolution 4K and multi-HD operator stations—to readily create incredible and impactful content."
