Montreal — 9 April 2018 — Matrox® Graphics Inc. and leading camera-maker, Lumens Digital Optics Inc., are pleased to announce the compatibility of their Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) ready products. Lumens™ VC-A50P series PTZ camerassupport Full HD 1080p/60fps streaming, including H.264 on SRT for applications including lecture recording, videoconferencing, and live broadcasting. Matrox Mura IPX quad-display multiviewer cards and Matrox Mura IPX series encoder/decoder boards for video walls, meanwhile, support the SRT protocol, the decoding of multiple H.264 streams, and the output of multi-monitor configurations.
The new technology collaboration now allows customers to show up to four VC-A50P series PTZ camera streams across four displays per Mura IPX multiviewer, and up to eight cameras on up to nine monitors on video wall systems containing one Mura IPX capture & IP decode board combined with a Matrox or third-party graphics card. The end-to-end ecosystem facilitates seamless delivery, decode, and display of high-quality, H.264 camera streams in SRT—at full resolution and frame rate—ideal for any AV-over-IP environment.
“Matrox is proud to partner with a technology leader like Lumens,” says Samuel Recine, director of sales – Americas and Asia Pacific, Matrox Graphics Inc. “Both our companies have made the commitment to help drive SRT in our products. The SRT Alliance is already thriving, and joint multi-vendor interoperability testing and quality assurance is just part of the march towards cloud-based and private network workflows with a next-generation, open source video streaming protocol.”
“Lumens PTZ cameras are used on-premises in AV applications and through the cloud on Video Management Systems, conferencing software, broadcast and social media platforms,” says Steven Liang, director of product management, Lumens Digital Optics Inc. “Working with Matrox and other SRT Alliance members to assure compatibility allows us to conduct deeper research into more tightly-coupled and value-added applications for our customers, where the results are more deterministic and the focus can be spent on vertically-specialized applications for our products.”
The SRT Alliance is hosting a panel at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 2PM with community perspectives from ESPN, the NFL, and Microsoft, amongst others.
